What We Know

Successfully launching a loved one with IDD is hard work.  It takes more than just building a home.  Families must:

  • Build trusted relationships with each other and partners in their communities

  • Form a non-profit and organize around a shared vision for their neighborhood and the resident experience they want for their loved ones

  • Identify service providers that are capable of meeting the needs of their loved ones

  • Navigate complex Medicaid, Social Security, and other government benefits requirements

  • Establish trusts and ABLE accounts,  and a robust financial plan

  • Understand and implement appropriate enabling technologies

  • Ensure their loved one has meaningful access to the community

  • And more.

How We Add Value

Our services model leverages our firsthand experience building and launching neuro-inclusive neighborhoods and best practice research to assist families work through each of the challenges noted above.  Our model:

  • Empowers local family groups to own and direct their housing journey

  • Accelerates the time it takes to organize and gain buy-in from families by leveraging the experience of others and not reinventing the wheel

  • Nurtures strong, trusted relationships across all stakeholders (families, service providers, community mental health agencies, community leaders, other non-profits, and more)

  • Builds problem-solving skills that will help families work through the inevitable challenges that they will face at every stage of the project.

  • Saves time and money, and reduces risk to the project
