Three Oaks Community Builders
We empower families with the tools they need to build sustainable support systems and a strong sense of community for IDD homeowners living in neuro-inclusive neighborhoods.
What We Know
Successfully launching a loved one with IDD is hard work. It takes more than just building a home. Families must:
-
Build trusted relationships with each other and partners in their communities
-
Form a non-profit and organize around a shared vision for their neighborhood and the resident experience they want for their loved ones
-
Identify service providers that are capable of meeting the needs of their loved ones
-
Navigate complex Medicaid, Social Security, and other government benefits requirements
-
Establish trusts and ABLE accounts, and a robust financial plan
-
Understand and implement appropriate enabling technologies
-
Ensure their loved one has meaningful access to the community
-
And more.
